Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic continue to prove that they are indeed the best two players in the world. The two men will contest their second Masters final in two weeks.
Novak Djokovic has literally been unstoppable in 2011. The Serbian world No. 2 hasn’t lost a single match in 2011 year, including a win at the expense of Rafael Nadal 2 weeks ago in Indian Wells.
Even with this fact, however, a win for Djokovic is not written in stone. Prior to the Indian Wells tournament, Nadal had won two hard court matches in a row against his Serbian rival – including the final of the US Open.
Nadal owns a 16-8 record over Djokovic, but many of those wins came on clay and to a smaller extent grass. On hard courts, Djokovic is 8-5 against the world No. 1.
Both men have been playing well this week; Nadal in particular was impressive in his semifinal rout of Roger Federer. Djokovic has similarly skated through his draw en route to the final.
Prediction – Nadal will be extra-motivated to put an end to the Djokovic win steak, given his recent loss. The Spaniard for the win in 3 sets.
